The second trawler of the KMT01 project "Norwegian Sea" (was laid down on January 29, 2018), under construction at the Vyborg Shipyard (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) is more than 98% ready for delivery, reports

According to the yard, currently the final painting work and equipment adjustment are being carried out on the ship. Also, the lining of cabins and other rooms is being completed. The trawler is preparing to go to sea trials, which are planned in the near future and will be held in the Baltic Sea.

A series of four factory trawlers has been built at the Vyborg Shipyard since 2017 for the customer JSC Arkhangelsk Trawl Fleet (part of the North-Western Fishing Consortium). The ships are built within the framework of the "investment quotas" program.

Large-capacity processor trawlers with completely waste-free production are designed for harvesting bottom fish species and the production of headed and gutted fish, fillets, cod roe and liver, fishmeal and fishoil directly on board.

The vessels of this series will be equipped with a factory for processing and freezing full-cycle products while fishing with the latest trawl complex. This gives the vessel the ability to process up to 160 tons of raw material per day.

The KMT01 design has dimensions of 86x17 m, will have an Ice3 ice class with a hull reinforcement to the Arc4 class and is designed to work in the North Fisheries.

The automated factory and fish-processing plant located on board is designed for the production of fillets, fishoil, fishmeal and canned products.

Vyborg shipbuilders delivered the lead vessel "Barents Sea" in September 2020.
